I got into a car crash sometime last week and could not move my car because it was so damaged.  By the time I got around to "release" the car from Lifesaver's lot, I was going through a lot of other side issues as well (legal issues, insurance problems etc).  I live two hours away from Santa Cruz and needed a tow truck to bring back my totaled car to a closer lot from home.  The process was extremely tedious because I had to go through insurance and there was no way for me to go to the lot because I did not have a ride.  Because of liability and fraud they could not release the car unless we went there in person.  Surprisingly enough, after explaining my situation (no ride, legal issues, problem with insurance and especially the WHY I could not go down to Santa Cruz) they offered a variety of ways that we could solve the issue.  We ended up agreeing on scanned documents, IDs and other pertinent information about the car via fax or e-mail.  I was extremely relieved to finally get this issue solved.  Although to some the "customer service" at Lifesaver's might not please them as much as a generic 800 number representative, I felt like they were extremely professional, genuinely good people that are willing to help you with specific needs.   Just some advice for those that will be using this service, be patient and clear with what you want, and I know for a fact that lifesaver's will get you what you want.
